Meet Yarima C. Newlin, DDS
Growing up in Colombia, Dr. Yarima Newlin experienced firsthand the necessity of delivering compassionate dental care. She started her journey in Dentistry at the Universidad of Cartagena, Colombia, in 2003. She then transferred to the University of St. Thomas in Houston, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Biology in 2011. Dr. Newlin completed her dental training at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 2015 becoming a Doctor in Dental Surgery.
She has further perfected her skills by taking master classes in full Mouth rehabilitation, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Emergency Dentistry, stress-related wear, and Aesthetic composite courses at the world-renowned LonDec Institute in London. Dr. Newlin was fortunate enough to gain entry to the prestigious post-graduate program at King's College London, where she completed a Master of Science in Aesthetic Dentistry in 2021. She gained invaluable knowledge from this institution, currently ranked No. 1 Dentistry program worldwide.
During this time, she also attended the FGDP (UK)'s Short Course in Periodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in London.
Dr. Newlin's thirst for delivering the latest advances in modern dentistry has her on a continuous journey around the world, seeking the newest dental technologies, learning, and self-development. She is currently completing training in implant placement, her fellowship at the Academy of General Dentistry, and several other courses aimed at refining her skills in dentistry. Dr Newlin also works on a part-time basis as consultant for various dental AI softwares offering her ability in radiographic interpretation and treatment planning.
Outside of Dentistry, Dr. Newlin is a foodie and an avid world traveler. She loves collecting anime figurines with her daughters and volunteering in several organizations around the Greater Houston Area with her kids. Since Spanish is her native language, Dr. Newlin can relay dental terminology and treatment plans in a clear manner to Spanish-speaking patients. She devotes time to various volunteer opportunities throughout the Greater Houston area and overseas.
Dr Newlin also loves to mentor students interested in Dentistry. She opens her practice regularly to high school and college students that want to pursue a path in private practice.
Dr. Newlin strongly believes in creating meaningful connections with his patients and providing the latest technology with a conservative approach in restorative treatments. Her love for smile design, Cosmetics, and minimally invasive Dentistry, is infectious, and her patients feel at ease by her down to earth, easy-going personality.
